Interviewer: Where there big classes?
Noreen Honey: In Standard Three, which was the next one up from the Infants, we didn’t have a canteen then, that was a classroom and I got a prize in that. I’ll show it to you shall I? (Brings out a book to show as the prize ‘1939’)
….cupboard. Instead of marks you would have red stars all along until the end of the term and this Gerald Bedford had one more star than me. So this book should have gone to Gerald Bedford but he was away and they gave it to me! So that’s cheating really.
