everybody has a story to tell about their life

Ian Born in Scotland

Ian and Noreen Honey, 2013

Ian Honey: My mother was the teacher in the village. The boat was laid up for the winter and they fell in love I suppose and eventually got married. My father had already had a bungalow built in Port Isaac before he even met my mother. When she was expecting me she went back to the family croft three days by train to have me born in Scotland as a Scotsman and to claim the family croft. But in the meantime her sister had emigrated and became a widow with three sons in Canada. They came back and my mother handed over the documents to her sister to live in instead of our family who had inherited. To this day there are still two sons, bachelors aged about 75, and one died last year (2012) …a bachelor living in the same croft and the same employment
