Samuel John (Jack) Garfield Williams

Leading Seaman LT/X 7506C Samuel John (Jack) Garfield Williams served in the Royal Naval Reserve (Patrol Service) on HM Trawler Fort Royal. He died 9th February 1940 aged 32 when the Fort Royal and its companion ship, HM Trawler Robert Bowen, were attacked by German Heinkel bombers off Aberdeen. There were 7 men lost off the Fort Royal, and 14 off the Robert Bowen. He is commemorated on Lowestoft War Memorial. He was the son of James and Frances Williams and husband of Olive Jane Williams, of Mitchell.
